Customer properties
any way to assign properties to Customers?
example - we hire 10ft, 20ft and 40ft containers, so for every customer I tick their appropriate container.
this way if i need a report on all customers who have a 20ft container, job is easy and fast
In Sap B1 this is available as per pic attached
1 voteHi David, this may depend on how many and if the 'properties' are constant in your business, however it sounds like Tracking might be a way for you to monitor and run reports for these sort of assignments?

New Invoicing - Show combined Account Code and Name
On the Edit page
Please can you display the combined chart of accounts account code with the CoA description in the account column as you do on in the classic view, rather than us needing to click on the description that shows in the column, so the account code then also shows.
We use three brands which use the same numbers for the same services but then add two alpha to show the brand: 200AA, 200BB, 200CC etc. and because of the display in the classic invoice edit view to help the double-checking before sending the invoice we check the…
4 votesThanks for the screenshots and feedback here. We've made a lot of changes to new invoicing since first announcing the retirement of classic invoicing. You'll find you can now view both the Account code and Account Name in the Account column when editing your invoices.

Reporting - Add a GST Summary Tab to the Activity Statement
Include an extra tab that summarises the totals for the Tax Rates including the cents.
This will eliminate the need to scroll through all the detail to code the journal/payment.
2 votesHi team, I know it's been sometime since this idea was originally raised and we wanted to provide an update for you all here.
Xero's Activity Statement report today has two tabs - Summary and Transactions.
The Summary tab summarises the Tax Rates totals of all transactions. This shows a round number without cents in line with ATO. Transactions tab includes all transactions associated with the Activity Statement period.
You can find more detail about how Xero populates the Activity Statement on Xero Central.

AU Payroll - Reports - Remove merge cells when exporting to excel
Don't merge cells in the Excel export of AU payroll reports
2 votesHi team, returning to the idea here I am pleased to share that with the updated payroll reports cells are no longer merged when you export the report to Excel.
We appreciate your engagement with us on this here. Thanks for sharing through product ideas! 😊

set balance sheet default date to "today"
The Balance Sheet currently defaults to the last EOFY date, which as at today (posting this suggestion) is 9 months ago. this is frustrating as you usually look for the figures as at now, and not the end of the last financial year. This functionality changed in one of the recent product updates. I know we can change the date and re-run the report, however it seems silly to default back to the end of the last FY and is a waste of time to have to do this always.
1 voteHi Jo, from the Balance Sheet there is a common date format for 'Today'. Once selected you can save the report as Custom and make this the default if you'd prefer.

Reports - Date Range to include Calendar Year to date
Entities often need to view business reports in calendar year, as opposed to Financial year.
Increasingly, revenue, expense and profit performance and targets at management and operational level are considered by calendar year.1 voteHi Ian thanks for sharing your idea here, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you.
We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too! In the meantime, we recommend typing the date in the box to avoid extra clicks. You may type 1/1/25 or Jan 2025. If you require further help with this, we recommend raising a case with our support team.

Inventory - Reporting sale evaluations
WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO GET MONTHLY SALES TOTALS OF THE INDIVIDUEL PRODUCT ID CODES
IS THERE CURRENTLY ANY WAY TO DO THIS
WE HAVE THREE WAREHOUSE LOCATIONS PREFIXED WITH WAREHOUSES CODE AND 20 VARIATIONS OF PRODUCT IN SIZES AND TYPES AND WE NEED TO SEE EASILY WHAT IS SELLING MOST ETC IN EACH OF THOSE PRODUCT CODES
IS THIS POSSIBLE
PETER J FCA1 voteHI team, returning to the idea here we will mark this as delivered. As noted in my last update - With the Inventory item Summary report you'll be able to filter to only select the items you're wanting to view and can add columns to view Opening & Closing Balance or Quantities, as well as those sold in the period the reports being run.
Alternatively, you could run the Receivable Invoice Detail report. This'll only include sales of items, and the report includes the Item Code column by default.
You could also set the report up to Group by Item Code, so sales of each item are listed together, complete with totals for the date range.

Reporting - PDF Preview - fix the scroll and zoom behaviour
The PDF preview pane is fantastic... except a page can be lengthy and it doesn't let you scroll on it.
If I hover my cursor on the PDF preview and scroll (using the scroll wheel of my mouse), it zooms. I almost never need to zoom on it. If I needed to Zoom I would hold control and scroll, like I would on any other browser page.
I have to move my cursor to this skinny panel either side of the page to be able to scroll, or grab the skinny scroll bar (to the right, not the left).

Bulk update account
Bulk update account for multiple line entries to allow for easier reanalysis of multiple line items within the software.
Include a feature to make it easier to change the account for multiple line entries at once through the supplier side to make it easier when bookkeeping to reanalyse multiple line items, rather than editing them one by one if they get reanalysed within the accounts.
I.e. for a client I originally posted all AXA payments as insurance, in the accounts they were reanalysed as other staff costs, at the moment I need to edit every single line item included in…1 voteHi Adam, we have a feature called Find and recode that will enable you to bulk update the account code for multiple lines at once. You could filter by the contact and then recode whatever lines of transactions as needed.
I'd recommend giving this a try in the demo co first and potentially working with your accountant before implementing this in your organisation. Have more of a read on this here.

Lock Previous Year End Accounts & "Compare with" Custom Dates
When changing the year end for a client, it would be nice if previous year's could be locked in dates, fixed assets, etc.
Once the year end is changed, it seems to amend the dates for the previous year in all reports too, if (for example) the new year end means the current "year" runs to 13+ months (such as when the year end is extended): it's hard to get the comparative period in any popular reports to show the previous year as it was filed.
And especially in the TB, I can't get it to show a…2 votes -
Reports - Include which bank account an amount was reconciled to
Please could you add a code column on the Account transactions tab under Bank Accounts to show which account the amount was allocated to.
1 voteHi Leanne, I know it's been a while since you started your idea here. However, not getting community support overtime this will soon be removed from the forums.
Atm, there is the ability to add 'Related account' as a column in the Account Transactions report, which may meet the needs of what you're after here.

Profit and Loss - moving annual total (MAT) option
Ability to generate Profit and Loss reports that show each month what the moving annual (12 monthly) total (MAT) is, so that an understanding of trends to income and expenditure items is over time.
Purpose: Users can see the trend behind the immediate or current year number
1 voteThis should be possible with the ability to add custom Date columns in the reports layout editor, Geoff.
It does require a bit of manual set up, however you could add columns for say 1 Jan - 28 Feb, 1 Jan - 31 March and so forth so you can see the accumulative total across months.

nz payroll Post PAYE without filing to IRD
For users who are linked to IRD to file payroll, could we please have a separate option to 'Post' without filing. Currently we only have 'Post and File' as a combined option, which can create issues either when a client wants to review final reports and be sent the bank file before being lodged with IRD, or when you need to revert a filed payrun (with no filing changes) and don't want the risk of it trying to file with IRD again (I don't know if it does or not, but regardless, don't want the chance). I've been told…

API Connected Apps - Options for Approved and Awaiting Approval transactions
The two-way communication between Xero and integrated software/apps needs to have at least some settings options – currently, there are none. At this point, it’s either connect or disconnect. The way Xero and the integrated software communicate is based solely on what they envision businesses using Xero would like as features, with a strong focus on streamlining processes. To make things as simple as possible, all invoices and costs added to Fergus (and many other project management apps) just go straight into Approved.
When staff members, contractors, or anyone with access to the software/app can add costs to ongoing projects…
1 vote✨ Thanks for sharing this idea and outlining why having control over the sync status matters for your workflow. To clarify how this works today: Xero doesn’t manage or control how individual third‑party API integrations behave. The integration partners decide how their apps talk to Xero and which statuses they create, so changes to that behavior sit with the app provider rather than within Xero. Next best step would be to reach out to your app provider and request a setting that routes new transactions into Awaiting Approval (rather than Approved) so your accounts team can review before authorising. We’ll also capture your feedback to inform our ongoing ecosystem guidance for app partners.
