  1. Thanks for allowing the contact to remain when copying an invoice over - but please can you allow the defaults for the contact e.g. Tax rate to pull through as well?
I have found when changing the account, or just adding a new item, that it is not bringing this in (as the little warning states when you are copying) but this is a real pain as you have to keep checking the Tax rate and amending when it isn't correct for that contact.
Please can this be fixed as it was not an issue in the previous…

Quick spotting there, team. Thanks for staying engaged through this idea. I can confirm that this was a bonus change that has been implemented with the release of other improvements in the Contact field.

As you've noted, now when you copy an invoice and select the same contact it will auto apply that contact's defaults.

Our team are working to remove that warning that defaults won't be applied so you should see that go soon.

  2. Suppliers that have a foreign currency default on their account should show the balance owing to them in that currency and not in gbp. This is very confusing for users who are not familiar with xero or experienced in accounts. Another colleague of mine paid the amount owing on their supplier account thinking it was USD as the supplier invoices in USD only and that is their default currency, however it shows as owing in GBP, therefore the incorrect amount was paid to them?

Thanks for your feedback, Christine. Appreciate how this could help though I want to be upfront that we don't have plans for changing this atm.

It would help in passing on your feedback to the right team to know if there is a specific area in Xero that you'd most commonly view the balance owing to your supplier - e.g would this be within their contact record, or do you run a particular report to view multiple supplier balances at once?

  3. Contacts due dates to be set as a standard company wide setting unless changed within the individual contact.

For example as a company we work on the basis that all payments and receipts are due 30 days from invoice, this should be able to be entered within the company settings and should already be filled in when creating a new contact.

  4. Currently, if you connect a new Stripe feed, your default Stripe payment account auto updates to the new account without asking or notifying you. This is highly problematic. At a minimum, you should be notified that its updated. At best, it should ask if you want to update.

  5. Why has this been removed? I genuinely can't understand any good reason for doing so from a Xero user perspective. Please reinstate as soon as possible! It is such a helpful, immediate visual tool to be able to qet a quick insight into a client, or suppliers, payment history and patterns of behaviour. It highlights immediately where there may be gaps and is something I (and others in our business) make use of on a daily basis. Additionally, as someone who benefits from visual learning, to completely take this option away is hugely disappointing. I'm now faced with a page…

Hi all, if you hadn’t already spotted, the Money in/out graph is back 🎉

It shows the cash in and out over last 12 months, and you can still mouse over the graph to show the actual amounts. The bars now have a minimum size for visibility! In the old graph depending on the difference in cash amounts the smaller bar would sometimes not be visible.

With this updated version you can switch to a table view that was added for our accessibility users/ those who prefer seeing a table rather than a graph. You can also choose to show or hide the graph entirely, just use the overflow menu above - see screenshot for illustration.

Thanks again for all your feedback on this change, we’re glad to be able to bring back an improved version!

  6. Add the ability to Xero / Xero Me for multiple time sheet entries per day.
For staff who work across multiple sites having the ability to add multiple time entries per day and either select a client to associate those entries against, or add a note for each time sheet entry would be fantastic.
Ultimately you would allow up to 6 time entries per day.

    Example

    Monday
    Time Entry1= 8:00 - 11:30am (note= site 1)
    Time Entry2= 12:00 - 3:30pm (note= site 2)
    Time Entry3= 3:30pm - 5:00pm (note = site 3)

Doing this would improve the functionality and uptake…

  7. Please include the functionality of classic invoicing which allows Xero to suggest email addresses based on your previous contacts used. This is a key time saving feature in our workflow and one of only a few reasons we cannot transition over. This feature also appears to be impacting other users with a slightly different issue - https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/47697284-new-invoicing-keep-the-previous-contact-when-usi

Hi team, sorry we didn't return to update you on the deliver of being able to keep the contact when copying an invoice with new invoicing.

This was released a couple of weeks ago. Now when you copy an invoice to a new draft invoice you'll get the option to keep the same contact.

It;s worth noting that while the contacts details will follow through to the new invoice for sending purposes. Defaults are not automatically applied - So, if you'd like contact defaults to be applied to the new invoice you'll need to remove the contact and then re-add in the new draft invoice.

  8. Reduce the lag in items column when searching, it takes too long to search, sometimes up to 4secs! Please also change the location of the pop up message "default contacts have been applied", as when I start a new invoice the pop up message appears in the bottom left, but I'm trying to look at my contact info and enter items. The pop up box lingers too long and covers the information I need to read! This is frustrating every time when creating multiple invoices and I have to "x" the pop up message away each time, which then…

Hi team, rounding back to the idea here since our last post we have released a few different changes across the platform that will have improved the experience for those that were noticing lags when entering data in their invoices.

As a start we released a new optimised line item grid, where among other changes we updated the Item field so you could view and select from more of your inventory items without needing to search.

We have now also made some enhancements to speed up autosave of your invoices meaning these save faster - see more on the latest changes from the long and short of it.

Now if you are continuing to experience any issues when working in your invoices, we do want to hear from you - however to ensure we can get the right details to investigate and escalate with our product teams, please raise

  9. On the Edit page

Please can you display the combined chart of accounts account code with the CoA description in the account column as you do on in the classic view, rather than us needing to click on the description that shows in the column, so the account code then also shows.

We use three brands which use the same numbers for the same services but then add two alpha to show the brand: 200AA, 200BB, 200CC etc. and because of the display in the classic invoice edit view to help the double-checking before sending the invoice we check…

Thanks for the screenshots and feedback here. We've made a lot of changes to new invoicing since first announcing the retirement of classic invoicing. You'll find you can now view both the Account code and Account Name in the Account column when editing your invoices.

  10. When you view a contact, you are able to see outstanding invoices and quotations from this contact. But it will be helpful to see quotations that have been accepted by this contact to make invoicing easier.

Hi community, as shared in my last update you can view both draft and accepted quotes from the Activity on a Contacts record.

I've attached an example I created in the demo co. 🙂

  11. When you go into a customer and click View recent invoices report, currently it shows a list of all their previous invoices, which is clear and easy to read. When you click on the new report version it shows a list of approved sent and paid invoices for all customers, but only for the current month. This is totally useless as you then have to filter it to the customer, and change the date back far enough to show all the invoices. Can you please change this so it is the same as the old report.

  12. If I want to see all invoices for a customer, I have to go to invoices and filter in various ways to get the results I want. This seems counterintuitive. I would expect to go to the customer under contacts and be able to see all information relevant to that customer including invoices.

Hi Nicola, you can see all invoices for a customer from the Activity tab of their Contact record. There are options to either view all, or just Invoices or Bills. From the tab it's also possible to filter the invoices by Status or other options.

  13. It would save so much time if there was an option to bulk code multiple lines on one bill, rather than selecting the account code for each line individually.

Hi team, with little interaction on this idea in sometime and based on the existing options that have been shared we are going to move this idea to delivered.

To reiterate the options - you can set defaults for accounts, items and contacts to fill fields and save time when entering bills, alternatively depending on your workflow you may also find importing bills from CSV where you can bulk populate account codes for multiple lines on one bill handy.

  14. At present when editing a contact, the fields are in USA format with Zip code and State - it would be much better for the UK if we could see Postcode and County

Hi team, apologies as it appears we may have missed updating this idea with a change we've made sometime ago in contacts.

When editing a Contact record you'll now find that the Address fields are responsive to the Country that is selected. For example if selecting United States you'll be able to enter a State and Zip Code, whereas if you select United Kingdom the fields will be Region and Post Code.

Thanks for engaging with us on this, here.

  15. INVOICING - in the field 'Unit Price', it would be great to be able to have this default to the hourly rate we charge (and to override if necessary). We send our invoices to our clients at the end of each month, and therefore there are several entries for the daily activities charged throughout the month, hence having to input the hourly rate several times for each invoice.

  17. Product/Inventory - Template Parent Item Line.
Would hugely time saving to be able to add multiple item lines with one click.
Clicking on a parent item which has selected item lines attached.
These multiple item lines are the items that would be used on every invoice, creating an item line template so to say.

    Hi Jamie

You can include the customer's account number in your quotes if you use an advanced template for them (also known as a Custom DOCX branding theme).

Our sample quote template includes the «ContactAccountNumber» merge field that adds this onto the quote for you.

We have a bit if help around this in Xero Central Create an advanced invoice template and: Fields you can insert into an advanced invoice template (it's the same process for quotes), but if you need an extra hand, you can raise a case with our Xero Support specialists. 😊

  19. The Balance Sheet currently defaults to the last EOFY date, which as at today (posting this suggestion) is 9 months ago. this is frustrating as you usually look for the figures as at now, and not the end of the last financial year. This functionality changed in one of the recent product updates. I know we can change the date and re-run the report, however it seems silly to default back to the end of the last FY and is a waste of time to have to do this always.

  20. It is crucial to be able to print or email statements to multiple or all contacts with received money transactions at once showing each received money transaction for the contact in a time period on individual/separate pages by contact. This is really needed functionality because any nonprofit entity needs to send giving/donation statements at year end. I have tried multiple reports and statements. I can create an Account Transactions report showing all the clients and the received money entries, but it doesn't allow me to separate contact on their own page. The functionality under Business and sending statements would be…
