Chart of accounts - Default to latest transactions first
From Chart of Accounts, click on an amount in the YTD column. The account loads with the transactions in date order oldest to newest. Please reverse this (or create an option) for the transactions to load with the latest transactions first by default.

Reports - Add Contacts report to show contact details and contact activity
Contacts report that shows contact details (name address etc) and Activity in last Financial Year.

Contacts - Ability to bulk restore archived contacts
I have 4000 archived contacts that I need to restore. Doing them one by one is ridiculous and will take an eternity. Adding check boxes on the side to select multiple to restore in bulk would be an easy feature to add and benefit greatly.

Bank Reconciliation - Untick 'Show (currency) items only' by default
Ability to untick the option of ‘Show currency items only’ by default.
Purpose: To avoid confusion especially for users who are dealing with multiple currencies.

Product & services - Create custom (tiered) price lists for contacts
Ability to create multiple price lists for the same inventory items, and be able to set a default for each contact.
To enable tiered pricing for different groups of customers. Would save time and require less manual checking
91 votesHi all, thank you for contributing to idea here. While our Inventory team have reviewed the idea for custom / tiered price lists in Xero, we want to be open that we do not have development planned for enabling more extensive Inventory management like this.
There are many Inventory apps that connect with Xero and offer these types of services and more - You can explore these on Xero App store. To be transparent we will update the status to not planned - If there is any change to this we will share with you here.

Customer Statements - Use Contact default to apply template
We are a multi-currency business. We send out invoices in GBP (base currency), EUR and USD. We have 3 bank accounts (GBP, EUR, USD. I therefore had to create separate invoice templates for each currency, to show the correct bank details. I added the relevant invoice theme when setting up a new contact (customer). This works well when raising an invoice. However when manually sending out a statement it does not take the invoice theme from the one chosen on the invoice (= in our case normally default invoice theme on contact). Assign Contacts to multiple Clients in WorkflowMax
It would be really helpful to be able to assign an existing Contact to a new Client. For example we receive multiple projects from Architects or Builders with different Clients. Each time we add the contact into a new Client's project, we make a duplicate Contact entry. It would be great to have the ability to assign an existing Contact to a new Client, and merge the duplicate Contacts.

Settings - Set default for 'Show [x] items per page'
Can the items per page be made an updateable default on all tabs? i.e. remember my setting until I change it again. So, on the contacts page I'd like to select 200 per page and have Xero remember that preference until I change it again.

Contacts - Add IBAN in account number and Swift in Routing number
There is an issue with the new contact edit settings, we cannot add IBAN in account number and swift in routing numberFinancial details. Since we have vendors globally, not everyone have US routing and acct number only. This needs to be fixed since we are relying on the bank details updated in contact

Since the initial release, our team have made an update and you'll find you can now enter IBAN and SWIFT into account number without it throwing errors.
Currently, if you save information into the account number field it'll spread across the bank account prefix and bank account number fields - The thing to note is that this will not impact processing of batch payments and will be one field when exported for batch payments.
We understand it’s not the perfect solution and are looking at further enhancing this - I'll keep you updated here.

Contacts - Export contact group
Very simple fix. Add 'Group' as a column header on CSV export download of contacts. When I download all the contacts, ive no way of knowing which group they are in, or if they are not in a group.

Contacts - Include account number or email address in exports
We need to export donations from Xero to our CRM system. However, matching on Name is looking very difficult but we could add either the CRM ID to the Contact record as their Account Number, or their email. However, I can't find a way of exporting a csv containing the date, amount, and either email Account number. Can this be added?

Chart of Accounts - Ability to set a default tax rate for new accounts
Be able to set an automatic default tax rate when new sales or expense accounts are created. In our country, the sales tax rate changed, and by default when I create a new account, it gives the old tax rate. Unless I change the Default tax rate for this specific new account to the current tax rate, I will be given the old tax rate by default. This has given us accounting problems that are sometimes hard to trace when one doesn't change the tax rate manually each time a new account is created.

Contacts - Search contacts by mobile number
Contacts - Being able to search by mobile number, when we have a missed call or a text message on the phone, being able to search it is before blindly calling them back if they haven't left a message.

You’ll find you can search by all phone number types including phone, direct dial, mobile or fax number, from the contacts list to view all contacts with the associated detail. We hope this enhancement improves your ability to locate and quickly access contacts you’re doing business with.
Whilst we also appreciate the feedback in relation to searching phone numbers via Xero’s global search in the navigation bar, this specific idea is around the ability to search phone numbers saved against a contact record - If you'd like to see changes for search in relation to other fields we’d recommend creating specific idea threads for these separately so that we can gain support and consider each of these changes individually. Reporting - Filter out Archived Contacts in Account Transactions Report
Hi all,
I want to run an accounting transactions report... if I filter the contact, it comes up with the whole list (I have loads archived!). Would it be possible to be able to filter out the archived contacts or at the very least, be able to type in the one I want?
My predecessor saved all PayPal transactions by their individual addresses so have had to archive them all to make my actual contacts list manageable!4 votes -
Contacts - Export and import all contact fields
Our contact cards are set up automatically through an API directly from our billing systems (we have multiple systems that are all coded differently). Fields like currency and branding are not updated with this link; therefore, the fields default to our Xero account settings. We want to export the contact card list with these fields to identify the clients with information that needs updating, to then fix and import in one step instead of updating each card.

Contacts - Add account column
When clicking into a contact profile, it would be great to see what accounts were used in the transactions for quick reference under the activity tab (currently, the columns are: Item, number, reference, date, activity date, due, and amount. It would be great to see an "account" column as well). This way, when entering infrequent bills that need to be coded to the same account, it is much easier and quicker to look up.
2 votesWe want to be upfront that this isn't something we have plans for.
It's possible to have multiple line items within each transaction, meaning there maybe more than one account your transaction is coded to.
However, you may find the Receivable invoice details or Contact Transactions report quite useful for this sort of look-up. -
Bank Reconciliation Report - Ability to run for multiple bank accounts at once
In the new format Bank Reconciliation report, can we please add a 'select' option for the bank account field, similar to the 'Account Transactions' report and how we can 'select' multiple CoA codes to look at at the same time?
I have a client that has 30+ bank accounts, and having to run the bank reconciliation report 30 times to check if they are reconciling/have errors is very painful.
123 votesHey community, just following on from Kelly’s update a few weeks ago, you can now add multiple bank accounts to the Bank Reconciliation report 🎉
In the new Bank Reconciliation report pack, you can now click ‘Add report’ to add in a new Bank Rec Summary report for each of your accounts - removing the need to run the report again each time you change bank accounts.
