New Invoicing - Show Branding theme on an approved invoiceWith the new invoicing the branding theme is not available which is an important feature for us since for different clients we had different branding theme. Can this be added to the new invoicing system? Please refer to the attached. We cannot switch to this new invoicing if branding them is not added and it seems in September we will not have a choice. We've just released an update so now you can view the branding of an invoice when viewing. We don't have any plans at this stage to increase the Description field character limit from 4,000, however we're interested to continue tracking the interest in community and understand what the optimal amount of characters would be for our customers. New invoicing - Show amounts with commasClassic view invoicng compared to the new view invoicing. The new version shows figures entered as 123456789.00 but Classic View correctly shows 123,456,789.00. All figures should be shown in 123,456,789.00 format. It's accounting after all! This is not a suggestion, this should be a bug fix, especially before new invoicing is enforced. 27 votes

New Invoicing | Files - Drag & drop anywhere on the pageIn old invoicing, you can just drag and drop the file into the window and it uploads. In new invoicing, you have to drop it in the box at the bottom of the page. Fair to say this is tedious! 451 votesHi team, returning to confirm that the ability to drag & drop files anywhere on the page in new invoicing has now been released to everyone. We hope you find this enhancement helps speed up and make attaching your files more efficient as you invoice. Just a reminder that you'll need to add a contact to the invoice first, and if you'd like to include files when sending to your customer, select the 'Attach files to email' checkbox once uploaded. We understand some customers workflows mean they would like to attach files before adding contacts and while this isn't something that's available right now, I'd recommend making sure you've joined this idea for any updates.

New Invoicing - Alert if the contact has available creditIn the "classic invoicing" interface an alert is displayed at the bottom of approved invoices when the contact being invoiced has existing credit that can potentially be applied to the new invoice. This is a very important feature and strangely it's missing from the new invoicing interface. With the "classic invoicing" now being officially retired this basic feature must definitely carry over to the new invoicing interface. Without this alert, every time we create an invoice we would need to manually check if the contact has previous credit with us, which makes the process unnecessarily inefficient and unpleasant. 121 votesHi community, we appreciate all the feedback you've shared on how we can improve new invoicing for your needs. In relation to the alert of available credit as raised in this idea, we've identified there are a few situations for Invoice only users where the available credit pop up isn't being shown. New Invoicing - Print PDF optionProvide the ability to directly save invoice as a pdf like it did in classic invoicing, rather than opening it in Chrome and then having to click the download button etc, the old way was more efficient. 144 votesHi everyone, as of today we have released a change to this process. Most recently, and as you may have noticed we've released a new line item grid (where you enter the details of your invoice). Invoicing – Enable full keyboard entry (date + account number) without mouse clicksThe current “Add Payment” workflow in invoices is inefficient for keyboard users. While manual entry of payment dates has been improved, the account selection still forces users to use the mouse, which breaks the flow. 
 We need a smoother, full keyboard-navigable process when adding a payment to an invoice:
 1.Enter date manually (already possible )
 2.Press Tab to move to the Account field
 3.Type the account number directly
 4. Press Tab or Enter to confirm selection without needing to click the search bar or manually select the account with a mouse

Invoice - Prefix in Date Format YYYYMMDD-01Invoices - Prefix in Date Format It would be great we could choose an invoice prefix in a date format that automatically updates each day. For example 20231123-01, 20231124-01 02 03 etc. I track my invoices by the date in which I send them so this feature would save me alot of time instead of having to manually update the date in the invoice prefix each day. 10 votes

Invoicing - Allow blank lines to make groups of invoice linesIt would be great to be able to group certain lines of an invoice together (for example by adding some spacing between groups), to make long invoices more readable and logically coherent. It used to be possible to add spacing on the Classic invoicing page by pressing Enter a few times on the description field, but this no longer works on the New invoicing. 91 votesHi team, thanks for sharing detail of the value in this idea in the ways you invoice. We've just released a new line item grid in invoicing which includes the ability to manually add blank rows and shift these to where you're like them placed in your invoice. That said, I want to be transparent in how this works - When you save your invoice any blank lines will be removed. So, if you'd like blank lines to help break your invoice into sections, you'll need to enter a character in the Description field of the blank line. Even a full stop '.' or dash '-' would suffice.

New Invoicing | Copy to - Purchase orderWhen a selecting the new invoicing platform, you lose certain functions. 
 The first function that has been lost is the ability to copy invoice data to a purchase order - this feature needs to added to the new platform as some business use this to purchase items that have been sold from a supplier and makes sure there are no errors.
 The second function is when invoicing from Project the time entered for that project is no longer being allocated to an invoice and showing in the project as not invoiced, this will cause doubling up on billing.164 votesHi everyone, we appreciate your continued input and feedback on this feature here. Being able to copy to purchase orders and bills is something our team are monitoring feedback of closely and very much across the this idea, however there are a few other priority pieces of work that are currently of focus. Right now, it is still possible to copy an invoice to a purchase order or bill from the list views(Draft, Awaiting approval, Awaiting Payment or Paid tabs). You'll find you can select the invoice/s and click 'Copy to...' - You can find out more detail and ways of doing things within new invoicing through our guide on Xero Central. We'll keep you in the know here of any progress or updates for this feature.

Invoices: Automatically update issue date when draft invoices are approvedI frequently create draft invoices to keep track of work to be billed. When I send the invoice (at the completion of a production stage for example), XERO keeps the date of the first draft invoice, which can be weeks or even months old. I have a setting of 7 days as due date. Clients then receive an invoice with a long gone due date, which is extremely confusing, if I forget to update the issue date to today. It would make a lot of sense if XERO entered the date of the issue automatically! Apparently there… 14 votes

New Invoicing - 1-click option to delete linesIn Classic Invoicing there is an X to delete a line. In New Invoicing I have to click on the 3 dots then select Remove from the 2 options that are displayed (Save to inventory or Remove). Our team have been doing a lot of work in this space to iterate on new invoicing and improve the experience for our customers. With one of our most recent updates the team implemented a change to the way you delete lines of your invoice. You'll now see a small 'bin' icon at the end of each line enabling you to easily delete lines as needed, without any extra clicks. 🙂

New Invoicing - Shading & ColourClassic invoicing uses shading on screen to help see the data fields. Recreate that in new invoicing. You might find you get a better response to new invoicing if users can easily see the data they are trying to work on rather than scanning a white screen. Invoicing | Files - Ability to attach files before adding contactThis Function is Broken with New Invoicing - It does NOT create a new invoice with the file attached. 70 votesThanks to everyone that contributed and gave feedback to the teams survey that was shared in my last update. There was a lot of valuable insights that the team are able to take from this as they continue to plan whats next in invoicing. We understand and appreciate there are different flows for how our customers invoicing, and the timing of adding files can be dependent on these flows also. Our team are currently reviewing and exploring solutions to enable attachment of files to an invoice prior to the Contact. As soon as I have more news around this I'll be sure to share with you all through the idea here.

New invoicing - Keep the send buttonOn the classic invoicing there is a send button at the top by email, print pdf etc that you can use to send to another xero customer. New invoicing copy and mergeIn old invoicing, when you used Copy and Merge into a new invoice, it kept each of the original invoice's items together in order, including the first line description. In the new Invoicing, it groups together all of the like items from each invoice which is incorrect. This needs to be addressed. 9 votesHi Lisa, it'd be good to get a closer look at some of the invoices you've copied and merged from and to, so we can get a better look at what's going on for you here. I've just tested creating invoices with Copy and merge from the list view using the same inventory items, however these are created as separate lines on the new draft invoice. If you can raise a case with our team of specialists through the Contact Xero Support option at the bottom of this page, they can get more detail to investigate and confirm.

New invoicing - Ability to add email to contact within invoiceThere are some new features that I like about the new invoicing, like the ability to immediately a new contact. However this is limited to name and billing address, please add the ability to add email address here too!!! Other classic features that need to be included so I can use the new invoicing: 
 - the ability to delete the Date and Due Date for a draft invoice. I draft invoices for the entire duration of a project once a contract is signed. The dates are not known at this preliminary stage however it is hugely beneficial…3 votesHi everyone, we have now made a change to the Contact card in new invoicing which allows you to enter more contact details from the invoice screen. You'll find you can both add details for a new contact as well as edit an existing contact. The fields available from the Contact card include Contact name, Email, Billing address, the option to add a Delivery address, and phone number 😊 Cairns, I know there are a couple of other ideas you've mentioned in your initial post here too. While we'll mark this idea as delivered for the primary request you may also like to join these ones below for any updates.
