  1. As a charity we would really like the ability to be able to have Gift Aid and reporting on Xero, otherwise we would have to get a 3rd party piece of software to run Gift Aid.
    It would be so great to be able to mark on a customers record that they allow us to claim gift aid on the monies they pay to us and then in turn for us to be able to run a report to submit to HMRC of how much Gift Aid we are able to claim from customers in others words extra income…

  2. The TB in Xero does not show lines that have a nil balance, however, you may need to drill down on a line that has a nil balance but may have have transactions (such as a control account). Could an option be added to the trial balance that would allow it to be displayed either with or without the nil balances?

    Hi community, we've just released the ability to show nil(zero) balance accounts in reports.

    Along with the Trial Balance report, this selection is also available for the Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss (Income Statement), Statement of Cash Flows - Direct Method, Cash Summary, Movements in Equity, Blank report, and Report templates

    You'll find you can turn this on as a toggle option from the More menu of the report itself, or there is a selection in Report preferences.

  3. Reports: Bank Summary Report
    The recent shift to new reports has not considered the Bank Summary Report. It is an important report in the sense that it tracks movements and balances for all the banks.
    Please consider creating the Bank Summary report in the new format.

  4. The new invoicing email sends a detailed summary of the invoice as part of the email. We would like the option to opt out for this like the old email template. We like to breakdown our invoicing internally for reporting purposes but the client does not need a breakdown of line items, just a total. We use custom invoicing templates so that we dont show line by line breakdown and the new email overrides this. Please do not switch off the old invoicing module until this is fixed.     Hi everyone, we appreciate all the attention this idea has received and while I know this has been mentioned by others earlier in the conversation we wanted to confirm it is currently possible to remove the detailed summary from showing within the invoice email.

    This is controlled within Email settings and updating your email templates for sales invoice.

    If you open your template you'll see an option for 'Include action to online invoice and detailed summary'.

    Having checked in with our team we have no plans for changing this flow in the short term, however this is a one time action so once you uncheck and save the template you'll find this removes this formatting from any invoices you send with the template applied.

  5. It is crucial to be able to print or email statements to multiple or all contacts with received money transactions at once showing each received money transaction for the contact in a time period on individual/separate pages by contact. This is really needed functionality because any nonprofit entity needs to send giving/donation statements at year end. I have tried multiple reports and statements. I can create an Account Transactions report showing all the clients and the received money entries, but it doesn't allow me to separate contact on their own page.     Hi Justin, thanks for sharing your idea again, I understand the challenge of creating a statement for a contact who only have receive money transactions. We've reviewed your idea agree its something others have asked for, so now it's up to the community to get behind and support it.   6. Description:
    I would like to suggest the incorporation of a new functionality in Xero that allows users to save supplier statements within the system. This feature should not post any transactions to the chart of accounts but instead, save the supplier's name, balance, and date as a memo associated with the statement. This information should be viewable within the supplier's profile.

  7. In the Director's Declaration, it would be great if the report could recognise if there is a single Director or multiple, and then update the wording accordingly. (eg "The Directors have determined" or "The Director has determined".)

  8. Re: Handling of Mutly-currency/translating foreign currency amounts into the functional currency

    Multy currency is currently not fully supported in xero.

    A foreign currency transaction should be recorded initially at the rate of exchange at the date of the transaction and then, at each subsequent balance sheet date, foreign currency monetary amounts should be reported using the closing rate.

    This is true in xero only for Bank accounts, accounts receivables and payables set in foreign currency but not for other account.
    As a result users are required to input periodical manual adjustments at each balance sheet date.

  9. Ability to shorten a financial year end on Xero without messing up reporting.
    E.g. when a company's financial year end is shortened from 30 June to 31 December so there is a 6 month transition period needed.

    Sorry we've not updated on this idea sooner.  

    We've now added the ability for you to create a short transition period (between 1 - 12 months long) when changing the Financial Year End date within your organisations Financial Settings.  

    To confirm the work in this space - Aligning with the UK basis period reforms we've made a change to Financial settings in Xero, so you can add start and end dates to different periods. 

    This change impacts multiple areas of Xero;   

    • Fixed assets will draw on this information, to prevent any loss of historic information when your year end changes. Everything will automatically be calculated for you based on the period start and end dates you set in Financial Settings.  
    • The same story will apply in Reporting. All historic reports will be protected. And you’ll have accurate comparison periods even across varied financial years.

  10. Xero has a gap in handling Fx gains/losses.
    It is great at both Realised and Unrealised on bills and invoices but it drops the ball on Cash at Bank. It treats it all as Unrealised, which is where the flaw is.

    You can have an empty currency bank account which has a residual functional currency balance and has movements on the TB every month due to revaluation. This is clearly nonsense.
    I have also been told to ignore the exposure column on the Fx report as it is meaningless.

  11. The Trust - Annual Accounts Xero SPFR template for trusts > Notes to the Financial Statements > 1. Reporting Entity states "Legal or Trading Name is a trust established by a trust deed dated [insert field: trust deed date], and subject to the Trustees Act 1956." this is incorrect as the Trusts Act 2019 passed on 30 July 2019 has replaced the Trustee Act 1956.   12. Report similar to Approved_sentand_paid which shows receipts (Payments & credit) for a specified week and not including previous part payments in the Payment and credits collum. The report should match our banking / receipts for that specific week including part payments.

    So basically, I would like to generate P&L by Tracking Category only for those categories which have activity during the month, those which have no activities (zero transaction), I would like to exclude it. So, my reports will be not too long and comprehensive.

    Hi Budi, perhaps related to how you've set the report up however this is already possible with the 'Compare tracking categories' selection. For example if you select 10 tracking options to compare in your Profit & Loss and there is no activity for 2 of your tracking options within the period these columns will be excluded when the report is run.

  15. We require a bridging letter to the SOC Type 2 report to cover the period 1 November 2023 to 30 June 2024 for audit purposes. When querying Support I was referred back to the generic link to download the above report. How do I obtain a bridging letter for the remaining period?

    Sorry we've not updated you here sooner, Alison. Since you initially started the idea here we've published an updated SOC2 report that supersedes the period you mentioned. If you need any further help with this, I'd recommend coming back into our Xero Support team they should be able to help you further. 😊

  16. The “Favourite” feature in the Reporting section is excellent, please consider expanding this to other dropdowns or sections across the platform.

    This could help address the long-standing need for sub-menu shortcuts or easier navigation, especially for commonly used tools like Repeating Invoices or the Chart of Accounts.

    Note: historically, I’ve used browser bookmarks as a workaround for this. However, recent updates seem to have made these bookmarks unreliable, some now fail to link correctly, and this issue appears to be getting worse.     In terms of bookmarks you may have saved, there's a chance with the change some bookmarks may have stopped working - In this scenario you should be able to bookmark the page again and it'll work in the new experience.

  17. Currently there is no functionality in Xero to populate the invoice number in the Profit and Loss report while the reference field is filled out. Would like to have the invoice number to be shown as well for easy reference and checking.

    Hi team, as noted in my last update you can click on the figure in the Profit & Loss which drills down to the Account Transactions report. 

    You'll find that you can adjust the report settings to add 'Invoice Number' as a column so you can see both pieces of information on the report.

  18. Set the calendar to Sunday to Saturday for everything, including Invoices. - Xero recently changed the Calendar for only the invoices. The week day now starts on Monday. I was informed this change was intentional and is currently not going to be changed back. Credit Notes, Recurring payments, quotes, bills, reports, literally everything else has the week starting on Sunday. This is very cumbersome for our business. My staff are constantly putting the wrong date on invoices. We operate at very high speeds because we have a lot of customers come in at a time, and a lot to…

    Hi team, we appreciate all the feedback we've received on the invoice calendar here. I want to confirm that our team have released an update and you'll find the calendar now runs Sunday - Saturday consistently with other areas of Xero. Thank you again for feeding back with us, here.

    • Manual Journal Report (ability to extract manual journal entries with user details - for audit purpose)
    • Adding company logo/image in Management Reports (reporting and presentation requirements)
    • Payment Batch checker (to verify batch summary that was loaded in the bank. Reduce the risk of file being replaced by staff)
    • 'Comma' to be displayed in 'Qty' column when generating invoices (better view of invoices to the reader)
