    Hiya Simona, sorry for not updating you on this sooner.

    Shortly after the release of the new report our team made a change based on feedback, so the report now shows Employee name and Date as separate columns, and the columns will be included when running the report by default.

  2. Would be great if the days per week and the hours per day could be for each day rather than a total amount. Sarah does a total of 30 hours per week
    Monday - 0hours
    Tuesday - 6 hours
    Wed- Fri - 8 hours per day
    but because we cant specify what days we have had to go 4 days per week with total hours per day 7.5. This is confusing to look at but we also have to remember when it is a public holiday to change it. Would be good if we could specify the hours…

    Hi everyone, you can now create new working patterns for employees which allow you to add in the specific days and hours they are contracted to work!

    This improves the default hours used in calculations around public holidays, leave requests, the first pay, the last pay and when working patterns change during the pay period. Thanks again for all your feedback on this here.

  3. Can we please have the report codes shown & editable on the chart of accounts page, and also through the actual reports?

    Reasons for the request:
    1. It is a logical workflow to specify how an account is to be reported when setting it up
    2. It saves having to view the report, realise a report code needs correction and then having to close the report to do this, if you can drill down straight from the report as displayed.
    3. As the account balance is shown on the Chart of Accounts page, it makes it clearer…

    Hi team, we hear you and appreciate the feedback to our last update. I'm pleased to share that now along with the previous update of the ‘Report code’ column to the Chart of Accounts page, we have also just added a button to the main Chart of Accounts screen 'Edit Report Code Mappings' which takes Xero practice users directly to the report code mapping screen.

    Taking it that next step to make it easier for practice users to update report codes for new and amended accounts in the chart of accounts. Thanks for all your support in this.

  4. The ability to set up a holiday calendar period of our choice (we have multiple clients with varying holiday calendars) with the option to have the full holiday entitlement available and for the available balance to reduce as employees take annual leave.

    Hi everyone, coming back to this idea I'm pleased to share that with functionality we delivered last year this is now possible!

    You can now set up an employee's leave policy to accrue based on a custom date of your choosing, so their entitlements will be accurate and accrue based on your companies leave year. We have more detail on setting up an employees leave entitlements on Xero Central.

    Hi Rolf, I wanted to share an update as running back across your idea here there is a bit of logic at play that determines the way a date is shown on reports in Xero.

    Abbreviations for reports are determined by an organisation's region and align with modern accepted format. This means while some organisations in Xero may show a date as 'Sep' another may show as 'Sept'.

    An example of this is for AU, NZ and UK organisations the accepted format is to show September as 'Sept' when abbreviated.

    We appreciate some customers may want this to appear differently but want to be open that we intend to continue alignment with accepted formatting. Thanks

  7. The leave process is not flexible enough. Once a request is approved, it can't be changed - only declined which is incorrect. Need to be able to amend/delete after approved. There should be the option to book as days not hours as our employees have day entitlement, this should also be able to be shown on payslip as days remaining. Why also is the leave balance report not being opened to UK

    Hi team, currently a user with payroll admin permission has the ability to edit approved employee leave requests, by going to the employees record, clicking into the leave tab, selecting the three dots where they'll see the option to edit.

    In regards to setting leave to be based on days this isn't possible as the earnings are based on hours, and cannot be set to days.

We use a lot of tracking options on our bills and invoices, sometimes we need to refer back to a particular bill in that tracking option for VAT treatment as an example, but the only way I have found to do that aside from opening each bill individually through the list to find the right category, is to run a tracking summary report, select the particular one and check the expenses - it would be much simpler to be able to see the tracking category alongside the bills to pay screen so you can easily open a bill for…

    Hi team, while not shown directly on each row of the bills list, our new quick view for bills should resolve the needs here. 😊

    By clicking on the eye icon from the list you'll see your bill shown on the right side of the screen and can use the arrows to quickly move through each bill and view the contents including any tracking that you've assigned within your bill.

    Get in to try and we're keen to hear your feedback on using quick view in bills!

If you pay a vendor too much and they send you a refund for the overpayment that is recorded as a Receive Money transaction, then the amount to be reported on the 1099 should be the net (amount paid less the refund received), but since Receive Money transactions don't populate on the 1099 report, the amount is incorrect.

  10. I want to hide the VAT line from below the subtotal on the 'Invoice email' template. I can hide it on the 'Invoice PDF' but not on the 'Invoice Email'. I'm not VAT registered so it currently says VAT 0%. But thus may look confusing to my customers. I would rather it was either hidden or removed.

    Hi Sam, sorry we've not updated you here sooner. This is possible through your email settings. If you open the Email template that you apply to invoices you'll find a check box for 'Include action to online invoice and detail summary'. You'll want to deselect this option to remove that detail from showing in your invoice emails. Just a note it does strip back a bit of the formatting of the email but will help you achieve what you're after here.

  11. Widen the display of the GST Audit report. When viewing the GST return I also check the GST audit report. When viewing the GST audit report I cannot see the date on the left side without scrolling to the bottom and using the scroll bar to move the report from side to side. It will not show all the columns at once.

    Hi everyone, our new New Zealand GST experience is now available to all users.

    As noted in my last update there is no longer a GST audit report. The transactions tab provides options to toggle different columns on or off. 

    The new experience also auto scales the page to fit information in one screen, so no more need to scroll. Thanks for all your feedback and contributing to the idea here.

  12. Product/Inventory - Template Parent Item Line.
    Would hugely time saving to be able to add multiple item lines with one click.
    Clicking on a parent item which has selected item lines attached.
    These multiple item lines are the items that would be used on every invoice, creating an item line template so to say.

  13. When you go into a customer and click View recent invoices report, currently it shows a list of all their previous invoices, which is clear and easy to read. When you click on the new report version it shows a list of approved sent and paid invoices for all customers, but only for the current month. This is totally useless as you then have to filter it to the customer, and change the date back far enough to show all the invoices. Can you please change this so it is the same as the old report.

  14. Offering a simple update to the Xero system which would dramatically improve one grey area:

    I had a discussion with my team and it's a common topic that keeps coming up - we find it very awkward having the 'Time Off' allowance displayed in 'Hours'.

    Just like some other tracking systems, they allow you to see your 'Time Off' as 'Days' which is much easier to glance at - instead of having to continuously calculate hours, which takes time and can cause confusion on some occasions.

    Hi team, we're happy to share that we've recently released a couple of updates to solve for the needs here!

    • Payroll admins can now view employee leaves balance in weeks, days and hours where the employee has a consistent working pattern set up.
    • On the employee front, you'll be able to view leave balances in hours and (days) within the Xero Me app.

    We'd like to say a big thank you to everyone for contributing here and being engaged with our product team to deliver functionality that's most impactful for our customers.

    We have more enhancements coming to the Xero Me app soon, stay in the know through the Long and Short of it, and releases on Xero Central.

  15. Description:
    I would like to suggest the incorporation of a new functionality in Xero that allows users to save supplier statements within the system. This feature should not post any transactions to the chart of accounts but instead, save the supplier's name, balance, and date as a memo associated with the statement. This information should be viewable within the supplier's profile.

    Implementation:
    The saved statement details should be accessible in a dedicated section of the supplier's profile, providing a historical record of statement balances on specific dates. Furthermore, these statement details could be utilized in the Aged Payables report

  16. I have a member of staff who I have granted access to the payroll feature, however she cannot submit anything to Xero central such as a question or request. The only way this can be done is if I also give access to the accounting feature as well which I do not wish to do. Can you improve the system so that anyone who has payroll access can submit a request to xero central.

    Your employees with Payroll only permission should be able to access Xero Central as they have a Xero login and this is the only requirement. If your employees are not able to access Xero Central can you please raise a case with our Xero Support specialists so we can look into this. 😊

  17. Custom Report comparing supplier expenditure per month - actual payments rather than total invoice that was entered on this date. Unless you are an accountant apparently this cannot be done - does that mean i have to pay an accountant just to get this report functionality? I am paying for Ultimate atm thinking I would have the ability to do everything, sadly this is not the case. Yes I have been on xero support who were not helpful in the slighest, tbh she had to check twice and then emailed to say the above!!!

For example, it would help to know the specific data, layout, or summaries you’d like to see in the report.

    In the meantime, you can check out or Cash Flow Manager report that will help predict your businesses’ financial overview, cash in and cash out. However, please note that information on cash payments in the previous three months is required to predict the cash flow projection.

    Our Customer Invoice Activity report can now be filtered to include only certain transactions types 🎉 To show just the invoices and payments, you can filter the Source by Receivable Invoices and Receivable Payments.

  19. There is no reason to keep the previous bank holidays on every payslip.

    I can’t seem to get rid of previous bank holidays from showing on current/future payslips. Why are bank holidays from the Easter and the King's Coronation still appearing on payslips May 2023 onwards?? Doesn’t look very professional. This is all on the YTD earnings line. Why isn't there an option to remove it? Clients are not very happy.
