  1. On the invoice template a mandatory field to be completed of the business email address. Majority on Xero invoices sent don't have an email address which makes it difficult to contact the business via email.

    Thanks for the confirmation, Andrew and Sue. While it's possible to add the organisations email in the Contact details field of a Standard branding theme, and could be inserted as Static text on an Advanced template, appreciate there is no specific field for this atm, and why you may like to make this mandatory or a default on the template.

    We'll leave your idea for making this mandatory here and you may like to also join this idea for providing as a specific field for this in advanced templates. Being open it's not something we have direct plans for atm, but we'll keep an eye on the interest here and share if there's any plans made.

  2. As a small business it is hard when employees take time off when sick especially with 10 days now. We have an incentive in our contract to either roll these over or cash them up however this is not available through Xero.

    Appreciate you sharing detail and why you'd like a cash up option with us here. Being open, as this is more specific to your business(not regulatory) we don't have plans for adding a cash up option within NZ Payroll.

    However, there are currently two ways you could achieve this within Xero Payroll today

    1. Leave the Sick Leave maximum to accrue value as nil this will allow an indefinite roll over of sick leave
    2. If you're wanting to cash up then enter a sick leave request for a single day and enter the total value of a week to cash up with a description of cash up

    We hope this can meet the needs you're after in recording cash up for sick leave. Thanks

  3. Separating out pre & posttax deductions on PDF payslip. At the minute these are all displayed together.
    Would be better if Pre tax deductions where displayed under gross salary and then taxable pay calculated, before displaying post tax deductions.
    Would be easier for employees to follow.

  6. The "Review and pay" banner misleads recipients into thinking they can make electronic payments, but we're not using e-invoicing and have it turned off. Another major issue is that it causes significant delays in loading or, in some cases, renders the invoice completely inaccessible. The banner in the new invoicing should be named "Review" rather than "Review and pay" or be editable to suit different needs.

    Thanks for your idea here, Rolf. Can't quite confirm the exact date this changed but you should now find the abbreviation for September in Xero Payroll has been changed to the 3 character long version 'Sep'.

    If there is a specific place you're still seeing 'Sept' referenced please do let us know here and I can follow this up with our product team.

  9. A default "Profit & Loss Detail" report is a standard option in pretty much every other bookkeeping system I've worked in and necessary for many companies.

    An additional option of running a standard P&L Report, but also being able to expand account sections to see the detail without opening a new report would be very useful for researching issues. It is tedious to continually run the report I need, only to click on one line item and then have to go back and run the original report again to continue researching.

  10. Before the update there were two greyed out boxes, when hovered over revealed the employee full salary and earnings to date - this was very handy when the salaries are based on an hourly rate. Where has this function gone? and can we have it back please.

  11. We need to be able to run a report of historical Expense Claims, by Customer contact in order to see what Expenses were entered for a certain time period. The Expense Claims Detail report does not show anything when I run it. I need the Expense Claim Report to be able to be sorted by our Customers names, not sorted by our employees.

  12. Been trailing the new reports format and when setting up a custom group account layout for a Profit and Loss report we can't use this layout across Common Formats of Profit and Loss. This feature was available in the old reports that once a custom layout was created it worked on all formats. Been advised that would need to create a separate custom report for every Common Format

Where an employee takes unpaid leave for more than one week, it would be helpful if you could enter in the date in which the unpaid leave applies from so that the anniversary date can automatically be reset. The current set up is rather antiquated, and needs to be automated to ensure accuracy and ease of use.

    Hey team, thanks for your input. We appreciate your needs here, and have a bit of an update. For any organisations that started using Xero payroll in NZ from 5 August 2024, you'll find you can adjust the employee's sick leave entitlement date from their employee record. See more detail around this on Xero Central.


    For all other organisations, don't worry this is also in the works but just has a little more complexity to it, we'll keep you updated of when this is made available to all remaining organisations, here.

  14. Purchase Order Reporting
    The current work around of using the Outstanding Purchase Orders Summary report lacks a lot of the vital info that's needed to manage Purchase Orders and create accruals at month end. A report that shows all the - coding, tracking codes, dates, who created and who approved, Description, etc and ability to run reports on only those that are not Billed and both with and without detailed lines would be more helpful.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback here. We appreciate there are more details some in the idea here would like to see around reporting of Purchase orders in Xero.

    We wanted to highlight for those in the conversation that it may help - There are Purchase order common formats in the Payable Invoice Detail report that you could use.

    For example, in the All purchase orders detail report, you can add a column to show the account, tracking and any other line item info you need.

    We want to be open that we don't have any plans right now for additional Purchase order reporting, however we'll continue to keep an eye on the idea here and share if there is any news.

  17. I need the ability to be able to print an expense report to provide to a client that includes all of the supporting documentation. All of the receipts are captured via Xero Expenses app but I can't print a report that includes them. To provide that information to my client...I had to screen shot every receipt and them insert them into a Word document. This isn't a workable solution. Please add this report.

    Thanks for sharing your feedback and votes for adding Westpac foreign currency account feeds, community.

    While a direct feed isn't currently available for these accounts, you can still keep up-to-date in Xero by manually importing your transactions.

    Just to give you a bit of insight into how these feeds are built – we rely on our banking partners to make specific account types available to us. The best way to get this on Westpac's radar is for them to hear directly from you, so we encourage you to reach out to them and request support for foreign currency account bank feeds.

    For this reason, we're unable to say if or when feeds might be available for these accounts, but we'll continue to keep an eye on the support for this idea, and let you know if there are any changes in this area.

  20. It would be great if a customer could pay more than one invoice on their account using stripe, perhaps when sending a statement there could be a link for Stripe to include all items in that statement, many of our customers have lots of small invoices that require payment at month end and it isn't practical to ask them to make individual payments
