New Repeating Invoice - Include option for "Fortnightly" Transactions
In the "New Repeating Invoice" section, Sub section "Repeat This Transaction Every" only has weekly or Monthly. A lot of employees get paid Fortnightly (Two weeks) and would be a great addition to add the "Fortnightly" option. Also adding the "Fortnightly" option in the Reference, Place Holder area. Please see the attached image as these area are highlighted.
5 votesHi team, this is already possible with the options in the repeat template. You'll want to enter the number '2' and select 'week(s)'. 🙂

Repeating Invoice - Set up daily invoices

Repeating Invoice - automatically calculating days of the month in the qty field
Repeating Monthly Invoices:
Can we have a feature where monthly invoices have the ability to automatically calculate the days in that month based on the date in the "next invoice date". Therefore it doesn't need to be manually changed. Eg Monthly repeating invoice. next Invoice date - 1 November 2024. Qty - 30

Invoices - Create new repeating invoices from draft invoices
There is an issue with the new GUI for invoices in xero. My work flow requires making multiplke repeating invoices from a standard invoice. At present this can be done by creating a draft, and then converting the draft invoice to a repeating invoice. The draft stays put in the drafts folder and can be converted into a new repeating invoice. Once I have set up all the repeating invoices I require, I can delete the draft.
The option to create repeating invoices from drafts in the new GUI has been removed. Where is it?3 votesHi community, we have just gone live with the ability to create a new Repeat template from a Draft invoice 🎉
You'll find this option from the 3 dot menu within a draft invoice. Thanks for your input through this idea.

Repeating invoice - Placeholders for the reference field
Instead of the currently available [Week] option in the repeating invoice reference field, which only shows the week number of the year, for example '34', instead allow the option for custom text that includes the date. For example to enable the customer to understand that the invoice being sent is for work that was undertaken during week ending 18/08/2024, which you want to display as WE20240818, you could allow something like this in the reference field: 'WE[yyyymmdd]'. This mitigates the issue of customers having to work out the date that e.g. week '34' applies to when reconciling invoices in…

Repeating Invoices - Ability to bulk update repeating invoices
Repeating Invoices - Ability to bulk update repeating invoices.
We provide a subscription service which some of the 470+ customers have been using for years.
At times we make changes to T&Cs, the wording, rates, payment services etc. and it would be extremely times shaving if we could do bulk changes i.e. change the Item, Due Date, Reference, Payment Services etc, without having to go into each repeating invoice individually.

Repeating Invoices - Don't revert to Draft when the template owner is removed
Stop repeating invoices being changed to draft when the author/owner/user that added it has been deleted.
Right now when a repeating invoice template has been created by a user who has since been deleted, the repeating invoice template option will be reverted to 'save as draft'.

Repeat template - Option to update template from Draft invoice
The repeating invoices that go to draft should have an option of saving for the next repeating invoice for that client. If you dont edit the invoice before it goes to draft eg: to increase an annual charge, then it does not save for the next time that repeating invoice comes up. Either that or give an option for a repeating invoice that has been delited to repeat again.

Repeating Invoice - Add dynamic dates to the repeated invoices
As it stands the "template" is largely superficial, whereas a template should be meaningful.
When I think of invoice templates, I think: unit prices, quantities, etc... much like your "repeated invoices" except the repeated invoices don't include dynamic dates. Monthly billing for a team is a nightmare.
So either expand the templates to include meaningful features, or add dynamic dates to the repeated invoices. Preferably the second option so I don't have to constantly rebuild invoices for my team.

Credit Note for Repeating Invoices
I recently commented about the new invoicing not showing credit notes available, what I didn't realise that this was only for Repeating Invoices, not standard generated invoices which do infact show the credit available.
Some of our regular clients like to prepay so there are often credits to use. Upon approving a repeating invoice, the classic used to say there was a credit available on that contact, click here to use it. There is no such feature on the new repeating invoicing to indicate there is a credit available you have to go and manually check. As…
2 votesHi Claire, I've tried replicating your scenario here using both a newly created and an existing repeating template.
In both cases when I open an invoice that has been generated from the template and credit is available I can see an option on the invoice to Apply credit (as shown in my image)
Could you please raise a case on this with our Xero support team on Xero Central. They have tools to be able to look into this deeper and confirm what's going on and why credit is not appearing for application in your invoices.

Repeating Invoice: Sales Overview - add a Last Updated Date to the Overview Screen
Repeating Invoice: Sales Overview Screen - add a Last Updated Date to the Overview Screen
Purpose: We use repeating invoices for the Auto Pay feature but most invoices need some form of adjustment before being sent each month. With a list of repeating invoices that goes on for pages it would be great to see the last date/time each invoice had been updated so that if you are interrupted during the monthly updating you can tell where you are up to when you come back to the Sales Overview screen, rather than needing to keep track…

Billable Expenses - Assign to repeating invoices
I want to assign the customer to repeating invoices like software subscriptions that we pay for our clients. I have those bills in as repeating invoices but I have to assign the customer to them every month. It would be nice to be able to assign the customer on the repeating invoice and save that time each month.

Repeating Invoices - Copy option
Repeating Invoices - ability to copy existing repeating invoice.
Reasons:
- Temporary Discount rewards (Scenario 1 below)
- Previously agreed future price changes
- Similar fee package for another client on a recurring basisScenario 1
- Client signs an ongoing recurring contract Monthly Fee = $1,000 (for illustration purposes):
- Client sends us a referral, so we discount their fee 10% for the next 4 months (update current recurring amount to $900)
- After 4 months client's fee will return to the previously agreed amount (create brand new recurring invoice, keying all the same information in,…11 votes -

Repeating Invoices - Day/Date placeholder option
in Recurring invoices, placeholders are essential to accurate and meaningful descriptions. Placeholders seem to currently only offer Week, Month & Year but not ‘Day’ or [DATE] or [TODAY]. (with the usual +/- feature). This would be hugely helpful for recurring daily or weekly invoices or for communicating a relevant billing period on a Monthly invoice (that differs from calendar months or calendar weeks) without having to manually update the date in description of every Repeated invoice. Currently more work is required and ALL repeating invoices need manual intervention before approval whereas if this could be automated…

Repeating Invoice | Stripe Auto Pay - Allow option to skip sending the initial invoice
At the moment the only option to allow us to offer Auto Pay via Stripe is to set recurring invoices to "approve for sending". Clients receive an email from Xero when their invoice is ready and an email with the payment confirmation linking to the paid invoice and their receipt. Clients on a subscription do not need to get the initial invoice and this confuses many of them. I would like the option to disable sending the invoice when Auto Pay is active, where the only email they receive is the payment confirmation.

Resend an invoice
Resend a "Repeating Invoice"
A repeating invoice contained an error, which we have already corrected, but I don't see any way/opc to resend the email with the corrected rep invoice. What worked for me was switching to classic mode, where I was able to modify and resend that invoice.
I think it's important that you add those options to your new look before you change it, because they are necessary in my opinion.
2 votesHi Chris, you can resend an invoice that has been created from a repeating template by opening the invoice in the Awaiting Payment tab and clicking the 3 dots in the top right above the invoice where you'll see an option to Email.
