  1. On the employees interface it would be helpful to have the number of hours booked showing against the holiday. Currently it only has the dates that have been booked. The hours are shown on the employer interface

    Crossing back over your idea here, Katie it looks like this is actually possible - When an employee taps on the leave request in their Xero Me app, it'll bring up all the details of their leave including the total hours. 😊

    If they're unable to see this, we'd suggest asking them to raise a case with our team of specialists through Xero central who can get a closer inspection to help.

  2. A detailed pay run journal report would be much more useful than the current summary version. It is especially unhelpful that selecting the entry in an expense account just takes you to the pay run - it doesn't show you what is coded to which expense account. With many employees this can take a long time to find errors or to manually journal multiple costings

  3. New Invoicing - Show selected From Email

    The old invoicing would show which Email address would be used as the from email when emailing an invoice to a client. This is an important double check to be sure I'm using the correct email address for the particular client. Since this has been removed I now have to remember to check the Email settings in a different tab before sending every invoice, which is very time consuming and is the primary reason I switch back to Classic every time I try the frustrating "New Invoicing" system after suffering through its hard…

    Hi team, coming back around the idea here I wanted to share that with the new invoicing send window, you'll be able to see the reply to when sending an invoice from the right side preview.

    Appreciate there may be some in the discussion here that would also like the ability to change this when sending which isn't currently in our plans however please do vote on this idea if that's something you'd like to see. 🙂

  4. In the classic invoicing history, we can see the date and timestamp, this is not available in the new invoicing - see attached screenshots.

    We use this time stamp a lot for trouble shooting - like what time or XPM and what time was the invoice approved. This helps if there is an integration problem or double up, or payment query.

    Well that was quick! 😉 It turns out along with an entry when an invoice is sent, our product team also managed to release time stamps 🎉

    In history & notes of new invoicing, next to the date you'll now see a time stamp of when an entry occurred. Thank you all who voted and shared with us on the idea, here. 

  5. Xero Me - change of address - employee can lodge a notification through Xero Me to payroll for your change of address. The change could be approved by the payroll administrator and it immediately updates Xero, then an email would be sent to the employee to say the change of address has occurred. This would reduce administration time, spelling errors in address and encourage employees to keep their details up to date.

    Hi everyone, back to announce that employee profile updates have now been rolled out across NZ, UK and AU 😊

    With the updates employees can now view more fields within their employee profile, and update details that don't require admin approval, including;

    • Contact number & email address
    • Residential address (excluding State/Country)
    • Emergency contact information

    We really appreciate your voice through this idea and helping us focus on changes that can make a difference to our community. Thanks!

  6. Xero doesn't have a built-in option to directly integrate with or automatically use Gmail for sending W-9 requests. That would be really helpful ~

    It sounds like you're referring to the Request W-9 window, Reuben? You should be able to set up Gmail as your default email app on the device you're using. If this isn't opening Gmail by default you may want to check your device's settings.

  7. Immediately after creating an invoice, you approve it, then a series of boxes appears at the bottom of the screen allowing you to receive the payment. Once payment is applied you can send the receipt to the customer. This is ESSENTIAL for accepting cash payments or any payment made at the time of delivery but before sending the invoice. Please add this feature from OLD invoicing to New invoicing.

    Hi Fiona, it's not necessary to send an invoice before adding a payment. Once an invoice is created in new invoicing the default option is 'approve and send' but 'approve' can be selected instead. A payment can then be added and receipt sent, with a similar workflow to classic invoicing.

    Atm there's no way to set the default approve option for an invoice. However, this has been raised as an idea across here if you'd like to add your vote. 🙂

  8. In the Director's Declaration, it would be great if the report could recognise if there is a single Director or multiple, and then update the wording accordingly. (eg "The Directors have determined" or "The Director has determined".)

It is crucial to be able to print or email statements to multiple or all contacts with received money transactions at once showing each received money transaction for the contact in a time period on individual/separate pages by contact. This is really needed functionality because any nonprofit entity needs to send giving/donation statements at year end. I have tried multiple reports and statements. I can create an Account Transactions report showing all the clients and the received money entries, but it doesn't allow me to separate contact on their own page.     Hi Justin, thanks for sharing your idea again, I understand the challenge of creating a statement for a contact who only have receive money transactions. We've reviewed your idea agree its something others have asked for, so now it's up to the community to get behind and support it.   10. Reduce the lag in items column when searching, it takes too long to search, sometimes up to 4secs! Please also change the location of the pop up message "default contacts have been applied", as when I start a new invoice the pop up message appears in the bottom left, but I'm trying to look at my contact info and enter items. The pop up box lingers too long and covers the information I need to read! This is frustrating every time when creating multiple invoices and I have to "x" the pop up message away each time, which then causes…

    Hi team, rounding back to the idea here since our last post we have released a few different changes across the platform that will have improved the experience for those that were noticing lags when entering data in their invoices.

    As a start we released a new optimised line item grid, where among other changes we updated the Item field so you could view and select from more of your inventory items without needing to search.

    We have now also made some enhancements to speed up autosave of your invoices meaning these save faster - see more on the latest changes from the long and short of it.

  11. Please reinstate the ability to create a sales invoice directly from the file library and have the file attached. This function was bafflingly removed in 'new' invoicing for sales yet the ability to create all the other types of transactions directly from file library was retained. This is a critical function when dealing with multiple BCIs (buyer created invoices) every month. Often the BCI file name does not include the customer name so requires opening the file in file library as well as creating the new sales invoice since files cannot be attached & viewed within the sales invoice until…

    Something sounds off here, as the 'Add to new' function is intended to add the file(s) to the chosen transaction.

    If anything like this isn't working as you'd expect it to, it's best looked into with a closer lens. Please raise a case with our Xero Support team on Xero Central and our specialists can investigate with you 1-1, and escalate to the Product team if it needs fixing. Thanks!

    With the Hubdoc mobile app you can now upload up to 10 images at once.

    Images can be bulk uploaded using the camera capture or your device’s gallery.

  13. Can we please have the report codes shown & editable on the chart of accounts page, and also through the actual reports?

    Reasons for the request:
    1. It is a logical workflow to specify how an account is to be reported when setting it up
    2. It saves having to view the report, realise a report code needs correction and then having to close the report to do this, if you can drill down straight from the report as displayed.
    3. As the account balance is shown on the Chart of Accounts page, it makes it clearer which accounts actually…

    Hi team, we hear you and appreciate the feedback to our last update. I'm pleased to share that now along with the previous update of the ‘Report code’ column to the Chart of Accounts page, we have also just added a button to the main Chart of Accounts screen 'Edit Report Code Mappings' which takes Xero practice users directly to the report code mapping screen.

    Taking it that next step to make it easier for practice users to update report codes for new and amended accounts in the chart of accounts. Thanks for all your support in this.

  14. Allow change to email format so that the VERY LARGE $X,*** 'Review and pay' button can be removed - as it can in the Classic invoicing. I have a large client who has stated they will leave Xero, rather than send emails in this format. They find it too aggressive.

    Hi everyone, appreciate the feedback here. Right now it is possible to hide the 'Review and Pay' buttons completely from the Email Settings in the Organisation  settings. From here you can disable the 'Include quick link to online invoice and detail summary' setting to hide the payment buttons entirely.

    Just to note, this does strip back the email formatting so you might like to send yourself a copy to see what this then looks like once the option has been disabled. Thanks

  15. We often get cheques or direct deposits from companies that are covering 5-10 different invoices. CSV functionality would be overkill for what I need.

    Right now I have to go into each invoice and mark them all separately as paid, and put a note that cites the total deposit amount so that we can keep track of the bank transactions.

    On the customer's invoice page, I would like to be able to click a checkbox button for the invoices that are included on the cheque, and mark them as paid under one transaction.

    Hi team, it sounds like batch deposits would meet your needs here. From the Awaiting payments list view you could select up to 50 invoices to batch together as one payment. When the cheque or deposit appears in your account you could then just select the one transaction to reconcile.

    While you can only batch 50 invoices at a time, you may like to add your vote and support on this idea, Peter. It's not something we have in planned development atm but if there's any change we'll update you all there.

  16. We use two tracking category's depending on which country the transaction relates to, the category options are the projects in that country, if a tracking option has been added to the wrong category on an invoice and you need to remove it you can't leave the category blank, on the old invoices and other areas of Xero you have (none) under the category options which you can choose if it is to be blank but this option is not there on the new invoicing

    Hey everyone, thanks again for suggesting this. Good news – the new line item grid is live for everyone now.

    With this update, getting rid of tracking is way easier. You can just hit backspace and tab through the fields, or we've also popped in a 'No tracking' option in the dropdown. We appreciate your feedback through product ideas – it really helps!

As a NFP receiving multiple donations from multiple donors, we require summary of donations/purchases made by the donor/client as a single receipt including each donation/payment's invoice number, date paid, individual amount paid, total amount paid. The summary will need to include the NFP's logo, ABN, etc.

    Appreciate you raising this in the community. It's not something we have plans for developing at this stage, we'll track the interest from your idea here and update you if there are any plans made.

  18. Currently: In new invoicing we are provided with suggested items when completing fields such as "To:".
    Using Enter at this points selects that highlighted suggestion, but using Tab ignores the highlighted item.

    Request: Enable Tab to be used in new invoicing to confirm a highlighted selection. The same function as Enter currently provides within this context.
    Tab is an active keyboard option in other areas of Xero such as Bank Reconciliations so this would keep the UI more consistent.

    Hi team, we recently made a change to the tabbing behaviour, so now when you tab to a field and highlight an option, tabbing to the next field will hold the selection that was highlighted.

    For example pressing Tab in the 'To' field will hold the highlighted contact, and move you onto the 'Issue date' field.

  19. Hi, the new version of invoicing will increase my work load. at present when you open an invoice to approve it, it is easy to select the tracking categories, as it is linked to the client profile. in the new version it does not and you have to go through the list in a drop down!

    Also we have an issue when we change the invoice date. for example and Invoice raised on the 5th Feb should be paid on the 6th March. If we change the invoice date from the 5th to the 4th, it does not change the…

    Thanks for your feedback on the idea here, with the way new invoicing works once you add a contact, any sales defaults saved for that contact in their record will be applied. 

    Adding a Qty or Price for a line will trigger Tracking defaults saved for them to be automatically applied. Similarly this applies to the any default saved for Due Date. If you have saved a due date that is driven by the invoice Issue date you should see this update if you change the Issue date on the invoice. 

    If this is not behaviour that you're experiencing please do raise a case with our team of specialists so we can take a closer look into this with you. 

  20. Xero has a gap in handling Fx gains/losses.
    It is great at both Realised and Unrealised on bills and invoices but it drops the ball on Cash at Bank. It treats it all as Unrealised, which is where the flaw is.

    You can have an empty currency bank account which has a residual functional currency balance and has movements on the TB every month due to revaluation. This is clearly nonsense.
    I have also been told to ignore the exposure column on the Fx report as it is meaningless.
